November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month

True Air Technologies is spreading the news about Lung Cancer Awareness Month

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
November 6, 2019

As November begins, for most of us, our minds are filled with pleasant thoughts of turkey, football, warm fires, and fall. But for some, they are reminded of the somber reality that has caused pain and grief: lung cancer. The month of November is National Lung Cancer Awareness month. Lung cancer is a dangerous killer that can target anyone. It claims the lives of nearly 160,000 people each year and makes no discrepancies between male or female. Lung cancer kills twice as many women as breast cancer and three times as many men as prostate cancer. While there are many contributors to the cause of lung cancer, one possible culprite is radon.

Radon is an invisible, odorless gas that comes from the natural radioactive breakdown of uranium in soil, rock, and water.  The danger occurs when high levels of radon become concentrated in a home. When radon is inhaled, radioactive particles become trapped in lungs and decay, damaging lung cells.  Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer and contributes nearly 21,000 deaths each year. A study by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) shows that people living in the Carolinas could be at risk when comes to radon exposure.

For the month of November, True Air Technologies will be offering 10% off professional radon testing in order to encourage homeowners to test their homes and protect their health. Use the promo code “LCAM” (Lung Cancer Awarenes Month) to take advantage of this promotion.
